Introduction to Ricardo IGNITE 2018.1
Ricardo IGNITE 2018.1 is a physics-based software package developed for complete vehicle system modeling and simulation. It features comprehensive built-in automotive Modelica libraries, allowing users to accurately model conventional and complex vehicle systems, including hybrid-electric, full electric, and novel vehicles.
Overview
With faster than real-time simulation capabilities, IGNITE interfaces with design and optimization tools, providing models for all phases of the development process. Users can simulate various applications such as vehicle performance, system specifications, fuel economy, handling, driveability, thermal management, and emissions prediction.
Improvements in this release include enhancements to the WAVE 1D engine performance and NVH tool, as well as the VECTIS 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tool. These enhancements focus on integration with other software products, improved real-time performance, and expanded modeling capabilities. Additionally, the latest version of the SABR shaft, gear, and bearing design package offers new capabilities and improved integration with VALDYN for transmission dynamic analysis.
